The Administrative Services Office (link) has control over the acquisitions of goods and services needed by the Autonomous University of Baja California (Mexico) in its many campi.

Being UABC a public university, its acquisition procedures are subject to many legal restrictions. For each acquisition needed, would-be suppliers and the Office do an intense exchange of documents within strict time frames. With overwhelming amounts of work, data management was getting out of hand.

The Office asked Ingenio SI for a tool to effectively control and publish both documents and information about the status of each particular acquisition case to the involved parties. Ingenio SI coded a custom Joomla! plugin to handle the precise publishing requirements as required by law. Ingenio SI was also involved in renewing the Office's website, making it more user friendly, in a move that helps both suppliers and the Office's staff.

Actual benefit: Better information exchange with suppliers; data management was greatly improved; law compliance was simplified.
